Treasury Services Operations

Charlotte, North Carolina

BB&T's Lock Box and Treasury Services facility is comprised of 106,880 square feet of mission critical space that must stay in operation 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. TAI provided complete MEP services including a complete analysis of the facility's existing conditions. The project included converting the old warehouse section of the building to an open office floor plan with perimeter offices. The open office areas were fit out with furniture systems and lock box sorting and extracting equipment. In areas designated for extracting and sorting, high levels of filtration were provided in the HVAC system.

Transient voltage surge suppressors were installed at both the service entrance and at the load centers to protect vital pieces of equipment. UPS (uninterruptible power sources) and emergency generator back-up were designed for all critical loads. Cable tray was used above the ceiling and special attention was given to the wire
management serving equipment in the space. Also included were new kitchen and dining facilities serving in excess of 85 patrons. The site lighting was designed to meet BB&T's security and uniformity objectives.
