TAI is active in the design of schools K-12 as well as higher educational facilities. Recent concerns with indoor air quality and mold growth highlight the need for engineering expertise in the design of mechanical and electrical systems to service the buildings in which children spend so much of their time. Our engineers are skilled in the design of energy efficient systems providing lighting, ventilation and humidity control. As with all institutional buildings, equipment accessibility and long term maintenance are given high design priority at the earliest phases of the project. Data and communication systems have become increasingly

important for schools. TAI has engineers on staff certified in data network design to help insure the proper infrastructure is put in place to allow for growth and change.

Advanced computer programs are
available in-house to help balance first costs and long-term maintenance and operating costs with project budgets. Energy simulation programs can be used to design projects to meet established energy budgets. We
employ life cycle cost analysis to
identify the most efficient system for the project.
